Safety
Intervals
-
Always wait for a guard to be in the chair before entering the water.
-
Always enter feet first in a cautious manner. This means at both the
deep end and the shallow. Also make sure your fellow swimmers are
out of the way. Be on the look out for scubas, turtles, catfish and
other bottom dwellers.
-
Always swim with a buddy or make sure the guard knows you are by yourself.
-
If
you are feeling light headed or turning blue while swimming—stop
and breathe. “Breathing is good, not breathing is not good,”
Dr. Kregor, Wildcat Masters.
-
Swim
in the right side of the lane.
-
Trim
your nails, yes toes and fingers. They really hurt the other person
if you jab them.
