History
In 1991 a few
swimmers began swimming at the Mary T. Meagher Natatorium, also known
as the Crescent Hill Bubble. These swimmers, realizing they had a lot
in common, decided to start a new team in Louisville and named the team
Mark’s Sharks after their coach.
Swim Kentucky formed in 2001 and Crescent Hill jumped on board. This new
club incorporated all of the Masters teams in Kentucky so that the members
could compete together on the national level. Swim Kentucky won third
and fifth places in Nationals in 2002.
This year the team changed its name to Swim Louisville to better reflect
the entire Louisville area the team member live. The team is also excited
about opening a new practice location at the Ralph Wright Natatorium at
the University of Louisville.
